Latest Technology Trends in Marking Industries You Must Know!

If we talk about the global coding and marking system’s market size, it was $3,832.4 million in 2019. But during the forecast period of 2020-2030, it is expected to demonstrate a CAGR of 6.4%.

You must be wondering what the critical growth factor for the same is?

The key growth factor is the growth of product application in the Food & Beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Moreover, technological advancement has further accelerated this growth.

The introduction of Portable Marking Machines, Dot Peen Marking Machines, Laser Marking Solutions, and so on has provided a much-needed acceleration. And this growth does not seem to slow down in the upcoming years.

This is due to the introduction of the latest technological trends in the marking industry. That’s why you must know these trends to draw maximum profit.

1. Dot Peen Marking Technology:

Dot peen marking technology allows manufacturers to automate the direct part marking process without any error. It provides 100% reliable part traceability. It gives you the ability to place high-quality marks on the products, and that too with consistency.

The marks by this technology ensure speed and accuracy. You can even use it to stamp on rough or uneven surfaces. Moreover, it comes with easy integration. You can even retrieve data from the host system, PLC, barcode scanner, spreadsheet, database, and so on. Most of all, it uses 2D Data Matrix codes for better product traceability.

You can use this technology to increase production throughput. It provides you with highly legible and accurate marks that eliminate the need for rework, scrap, testing, etc.

2. Laser Marking Technology:

In this, a beam of concentrated light creates a lasting mark on the surface. This is done through a fibre, pulsed, continuous wave, green, or UV laser machine.

The process involved in this is automated and carries a lot of speed and accuracy. You can use it to leave permanent traceability marks on a wide range of materials. It can be steel, titanium, aluminium, copper, wood, ceramic, cardboard, etc.

It provides you with greater operational efficiency and productivity with minimum downtime. Its power lies in more visibility and accountability throughout the supply chain.

3. Continuous Ink Jet (CIJ) Technology:

These printers expel electrically charged ink droplets from a printhead nozzle and then pass them through an electric field.

The ink-jet is then broken into tiny drops inside the chamber. This happens due to a pulse from the piezoelectric crystal. An electrode charges the printing droplets as they break off from the ink-jet. As far as the printer is concerned, it re-circulates the rest.

The charged droplets pass through the electrostatic field between deflector plates. The droplet’s correct position on the substrate is determined by a combination of both speed and charge.

It would help if you were amazed that up to 120,000 of these tiny droplets are expelled per second. Moreover, this process takes place without even contact with the material on which the print is going.

4. Thermal Transfer Overprinting (TTO):

This technology creates messages with resolutions up to 300dpi. This is done by pushing a ribbon into contact with a substrate that is used in the printhead.

This printhead is made from a series of miniature print elements under a ceramic coating. Moreover, a coloured wax or resin mixture is used for covering a layer on the thermal printer ribbon.

When the small areas of ribbon belts come in contact with the heated elements, a mixture on the ribbon melts, this results in transferring and adhering colour to the substrate’s surface. This happens when the substrate moves under the printhead.

The best thing about thermal transfer printers is whether they are functional in either continuous or intermittent printing modes. They print at high-resolution, and that too on fast-moving production lines.

You can use them to publish a series of messages. Then it doesn’t matter whether it’s about printing pricing, date and time, bar codes, QR codes, logos, ingredients, and so on.

Conclusion:

The marking industry is all about new technological advancements. It doesn’t matter whether it’s about CO2 Laser Marking Machine or Mini Laser Engraver Machine or so on. These all have revolutionized the waymarking or engraving used to take place earlier.

The speed and accuracy that comes with the latest technology have no match to the one in use earlier. This is why you must know the latest technology trends in marking industries. This will help you make maximum profit and that too within a short period.
